Thursday night marked the start of the second annual Birmingham Light Festival. Running until Sunday 15th February, visitors can explore an extraordinary gallery of illuminated artworks and installations across the city centre, and see Birmingham in a whole new light.
Festivalgoers enjoyed the first performances of FORGED at Bullring, featuring spoken-word artist, Amerah Saleh, alongside Insurgent, a progressive metal band from the city, set against the backdrop of a giant flaming organ.
Other highlights include The Heartbeat of Brindleyplace in Oozells Square, as well as a new legacy piece by Richard O’Gorman, Where the Trees Begin, in Edgbaston Village.
