A night of world class Americana arrives in the Black Country as Robert Vincent headlines Bilston Town Hall on Thursday 8th October, joined by special guests Pete Hubbard and Charlotte Young for an evening of rich storytelling, soulful vocals and roots driven songwriting.
Robert Vincent has become one of the UK’s most celebrated Americana artists, admired for a voice that blends warmth, grit and emotional depth. Bob Harris named him Emerging Artist of the Year in 2016, calling him “absolutely magnetic” and “the real deal”, and his rise since has been nothing short of remarkable. His album ‘I’ll Make The Most Of My Sins’ topped the iTunes charts after a standout performance on BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test: For One Night Only, earning AMAUK’s Album of the Year in 2018.
His follow up, ‘In This Town You’re Owned’, pushed him even further into the spotlight. It won AMAUK’s Album of the Year in 2021, earned him Artist of the Year, reached #2 in the UK Americana Charts, and was named one of American Songwriter’s top 20 albums of 2020 across all genres, a rare honour for a British artist.
Vincent’s live performances are where his craft shines brightest. Whether solo or backed by his band, he brings a commanding presence and a storyteller’s touch. His recent highlights include official showcases at AmericanaFest in Nashville, touring the UK and Europe with Robert Plant & Saving Grace, performing at Celtic Connections with Mary Chapin Carpenter, supporting Roger Waters at Hyde Park, and touring with Paul Carrack and Duane Eddy, who gifted him a signature Gretsch guitar after his London Palladium show.
Joining the bill is Birmingham’s Charlotte Young, a chart topping contemporary country artist whose smoky vocals and crisp production blend classic country storytelling with modern polish. With consecutive #1 EPs, strong streaming success and influences ranging from Johnny Cash to Carrie Underwood, Charlotte brings a powerful, heartfelt set rooted in both tradition and fresh, contemporary energy.
Opening the night is Shropshire’s Pete Hubbard, an alt country and folk rock artist whose rich vocals and meaningful lyrics draw from Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, John Prine and Willie Nelson. His debut single ‘Whiskey & Wine’ earned him BBC Introducing Featured Artist in January 2025, marking the start of a breakout year. With influences stretching from Tyler Childers to The Lumineers, Pete brings a raw, roots driven sound shaped by both country heritage and UK grit.
A night of Americana excellence from three artists who embody the genre’s heart, across truth, craft and connection. If you’re drawn to music that tells stories with soul and sincerity, Bilston Town Hall on 8th October is the place to be.
