Rum cocktails galore as Apache Indian Brings Boom Shack-A-Lak Energy to Birmingham Rum Festival

Heatwave alert. The countdown is on. This weekend, Birmingham Rum Festival is turning up the heat with a tropical celebration packed with rum, live music and one very special guest – 90s music icon Apache Indian.

Taking over The Cuban Embassy in Moseley on Saturday 27th June, Birmingham’s biggest rum party returns bigger, louder and more flavour-packed than ever before. And if you haven’t got your ticket yet, now’s the time.

The man behind the legendary hit Boom Shack-A-Lak’ will be making a special appearance, bringing his exclusive Boom Shack-A-Lak  Rum and the unmistakable dancehall vibes that made him a global star. From his roots in Birmingham’s Handsworth to selling more than 11 million records worldwide, Apache Indian remains one of the city’s most celebrated musical exports.

Now he’s back home and ready to get the party started.

Festival-goers will have the chance to meet the music legend and sample his signature rum – a vibrant tropical blend inspired by his Indian and Caribbean heritage, bursting with juicy mango, pineapple and smooth island flavour.

Whether you’re dancing along to live performances from house band Rhythms del Toro, discovering new rums, enjoying expertly mixed cocktails or simply soaking up the atmosphere, this is set to be one of Birmingham’s most feel-good events of the summer.

Apache Indian is just one reason to be there.
