Breath-taking romantic thriller, The Bodyguard, features a host of irresistible classics by the late, great Whitney Houston, including One Moment in Time, I Have Nothing, Greatest Love of All and I Will Always Love You. The Alexandra’s Christmas residency, The Bodyguard stars Emmerdale’s Ayden Callaghan and multi-platinum recording artist Emily Williams (Australian Idol and Young Divas) in an infamous love story for the ages.

2:22 A Ghost Story arrives in January, fresh from five record-breaking West End seasons, written by Danny Robins (BBC podcasts Uncanny and The Battersea Poltergeist) to bring an adrenaline-filled night where secrets emerge and ghosts may or may not appear. The show features a host of star performers including Jay McGuinness (The Wanted), Fiona Wade (Silent Witness), Vera Chok (Hollyoaks) and George Rainsford (Casualty).

After an incredible run of 33 years in the West End, chilling ghost story The Woman in Black will deliver atmosphere, illusion and horror with this legendary production in February. Seen by over 7 million people worldwide, this show continues to delight and terrify audiences of all generations. A brand-new production of the bestselling crime novel of all time, Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat in March. Ten strangers are lured to a solitary Devon mansion, off the coast. When a storm cuts them off from the mainland, the true reason for their presence on the island becomes horribly clear…

Celebrating 25 years since the 1997 release of the film with this brand-new production, The Full Monty is bringing a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, laughs and heartbreak in late January. Gaz (EastEnders’ Danny Hatchard), Guy (XFactor’s Jake Quickenden) and their mates are down on their luck, and in trying to regain their dignity and pride, have to bare a little more than they ever thought they would have to.

Opening in Birmingham in February, prepare to be swept off your feet with An Officer and a Gentleman The Musical, based on the 80s award-winning movie. A timeless story of love, courage and redemption will make your heart soar and leave you breathless. Featuring the songs of Madonna, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper and Blondie, and the award-winning (Love Lift Us) Up Where We Belong.

I Should Be So Lucky, arriving in April, features an original story of love, laughter and last-minute getaways, created by Debbie Isitt (Nativity). This official musical will transport you from the aisle to the isles, featuring Stock Aitken and Waterman’s Hit Factory (which produced the soundtrack of a generation) including pop royalty Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Jason Donovan and Bananrama.

The original cast of trailblazing, BAFTA and EMMY award-winning, TV series Drop the Dead Donkey returns live to the stage after 30 years. This hot-off-the-press production is reimagined as a topical commentary of the cutthroat world of 24-hour news, bursting with razor-sharp wit and classic British humour, featuring the original cast.

Introducing a new generation to the joy of live theatre, The Alexandra will welcome a host of family-friendly productions in 2024. In March, Madagascar the Musical, starring CBBC and Strictly Come Dancing’s Karim Zeroual, visits King Julien’s madcap world, in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Cornley Drama Society is back in March with Peter Pan Goes Wrong – but will they ever make it to Neverland? In a musical extravaganza with heart-warming story and unforgettable characters, Shrek the Musical, starring Antony Lawrence (The Lion King, Matilda The Musical) and Joanne Clifton (Strictly Come Dancing), is filled with laughter, love and ogre-sized fun. 101 Dalmatians, direct from London, brings a classic canine caper to life on stage with spectacular puppetry, witty songs and irresistible puppies in July.

There are also a host of ‘one night only’ gems, including welcoming Birmingham’s First Lady, Sharon Osbourne with her new show Cut the Crap. Chart topping podcast Saving Grace will arrive as part of GK Barry’s biggest live tour yet. Aston Villa Legends will divulge all the secrets of Paul Merson, Andy Townsend, Dion Dublin and Dean Saunders. Comedy will also be served by Iain StirlingFrankie Boyle, Tommy Tiernan, Al Murray and Ed Gamble.
