The Big Birmingham Soul night takes over Town Hall

Soul and retro nightclub The Night Owl have announced the return of their Big Birmingham Soul Night for 2019. Based on Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth, The Night Owl will be taking over Birmingham Town Hall this summer for the fourth time.

Bringing back the nostalgia of Blackpool Mecca’s world famous Northern Soul all nighters, The Night Owl are more than pleased to announce DJ Colin Curtis will be headlining the main room on Saturday, May 25th. Another Blackpool Mecca DJ Neil Rushton will join the line up, alongside PEP (Golden Torch) and Night Owl resident DJs Sonny & Spare, Mazzy Snape and Richard Priest.

After the success of the last three years, The Night Owl will be bringing all the best floor fillers to two rooms inside the historic Town Hall. Fans of the music from the 1960s and 70s can also expect a mix of mod, disco, funk and more in the second room, whilst the main room will be filled with Northern Soul anthems and classic soul tracks well into the night.

The Night Owl have become famous across the country for championing retro sounds. It’s not just Northern Soul fans this club caters to; since opening their doors almost four years ago, the independently run club has gone from strength to strength by featuring both tribute bands and local live music acts, Stranger Things, Bowie and Prince themed club nights, disco dance offs and more.

In February last year, shoppers were introduced to the club with a surprise flash mob in the Great Western Arcade, with the aim to show Birmingham why people are so passionate about Northern Soul and the timeless dance moves its associated with.

The Big Birmingham Soul Night hosted by The Night Owl at Birmingham’s Town Hall takes place 9pm until 4am on Saturday, May 25th. The past Big Birmingham Soul Night events have sold out way in advance, with the fourth installment anticipated to do the same. Tickets are on sale from The Ticket Sellers now.
