After the success of last year’s The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, we are bringing it back in July!
When: Sunday 26th July 2025, 1:30pm – 2:30pm
Where: York Road, Kings Heath, B14 7SA
What: “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever” is an event held at locations around the world where participants recreate the music video for Kate Bush’s iconic song ‘Wuthering Heights’ (red dress video version!) coming together to collectively perform the dance seen in the video. The event’s inspiration is Shambush’s The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience, which took place at the Brighton Fringe in 2013 and created by performance collective Shambush! They attempted to set an unofficial world record for the most people dressed as Kate Bush in one place, with hundreds attending. Since then events have taken place in various locations around the world including Sydney, Copenhagen, Berlin, Folkestone and Preston. The event will take place from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. There will be a run through of the dance with instructions from 1:30pm before a videoed final run through. Please note this event will be filmed and shared on social media.
Why: Why not?! But, we will be doing the event to raise money for Birmingham charities Anawim https://anawim.co.uk/ and WE:ARE (Women’s Empowerment And Recovery Educators) https://www.weareuk.org/ We are asking participants and spectators to donate a minimum of £5 if you are able to, but this is not a requirement if you’re unable to donate. If you would like to donate less than £5 there will be donation points on York Road on the day. Please do book a ticket if you can so that we know how many people are coming. Free tickets are available for those who are unable to pay. We ask that you book a place so we can make sure the event is safe for the number of people attending.
Who: ANYONE AND EVERYONE! All are welcome. The event is open to everyone, you can do as much or as little of the dance as you like and all ages, genders and abilities are welcome. You can go full Kate Bush with your costume or simply wear a bit of red as a nod to the red dress Kate wears in the video. If you don’t want to take part but just watch, that’s fine too! We want to have as many people as possible come along to make the Birmingham “The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever” an afternoon to remember!
How: If you’d like to take part then please book a ticket HERE
You can download the instructional videos which break down each section on THIS LINK
Once you’ve learned the chorus dance, you’re half-way there! So, we suggest starting with learning the chorus, then the first verse and add on the chorus, then when you’re confident with that add on the second verse and so on. You DO NOT need to do any of it perfectly, it’s not a test, it’s for fun! You can also turn up on the day without practicing as we will do some practice on the day before filming everyone doing the dance together. So have a go but don’t worry if you can’t do it all or need to just do something different for part of it due to any physical needs. We want everyone to be able to take part in any way they can. If you want to join in but feel nervous on the day or are going to be on your own, please email us and we will do whatever we can to help you feel comfortable and access the event.
Travelling to York Road:
If you live nearby and are able to, then please walk to York Road. If you live further away and are able to get public transport then we encourage you to do so.
