Winter Funland Returns to Birmingham NEC this Christmas

The Christmas extravaganza, that is Winter Funland, is returning to the Midlands for a second year, to bring joy and magic to the festive season.

Winter Funland, which is officially the UK’s largest indoor funfair, will be returning to Birmingham NEC Arena from Saturday 10th December to Monday 2nd January 2023, ensuring the perfect Christmas day out for all the family.

The 250,000 square foot space, the UK’s largest indoor exhibition space, will be transformed into a Winter Funland comprising a gigantic ice-skating rink, a 2,000 seater Christmas extravaganza circus show, a full-size fairground, and Santa’s Grotto ensuring Christmas 2022 will be one to remember.

Glen Ramsden, Winter Funland Birmingham event manager, commented: “2022 has been a tough year for so many people, due to costs rising and we understand many people are finding it difficult. However, if families are looking for a day out to treat the family, and to celebrate the most magical time of the year, in a spectacular way, then Winter Funland is perfect. It has everything under one roof, for families to enjoy and make some lovely memories.

“The tickets include unlimited time on the rides which has traditional Waltzers and roller coasters and family favourite, the Dodgems, access to the skating rink which is perfect for all the family whether you are a pro or using one of our penguin aides, and the circus which has both classic entertainment with clowns and acrobats, to some more extreme acts – it’s not to be missed!”

This Christmas extravaganza will also include a festive sweet and savoury food and drink market including halal food, mulled wine and sweet shop, mischievous elves popping up all over the place and even the chance to meet with Father Christmas himself, at Santa’s Grotto.

Also, not to be missed are the elves flying through the air on their powerful motorbikes delivering a breath-taking motorbike aerial display.

Richard Mann, New Business Director, at the NEC, commented: “It is great that Winter Funland is returning for a second year and hopefully many more. We were really impressed with the scale of the event last year and the attention to detail, and if families are looking for a magical Christmas event that everyone will enjoy, then Winter Funland is a real treat.”

A VIP night will take place on Thursday 8th December and there will also be special sensory sessions for families with children who have autism on Monday 12th December when the noise will be lowered, lighting reduced and a special chill-out space available.

There are a range of daytime and early evening sessions available. Tickets cost £26 each, or £100 for a family of four, plus a booking fee. Children under three and carers go free but still need tickets. Grotto visits are £7 per child, including a present and one adult goes free and must be prebooked, along with discounted parking when purchasing tickets. The NEC Arena is served by multiple motorway connections and an onsite train station too.

All attractions are indoors, so there are limited tickets per session, so it is recommended visitors book early to avoid disappointment to ensure each and every family has a magical time. To book tickets, visit https://www.winterfunland.com/
