World Kebab Day next week: German Doner Kebab to offer 50% off mains all next week

  • GDK to offer 50% main dishes all next week as part of World Kebab Day celebrations next week
  • GDK will look to settle the nation’s sauciest debates – would you trust someone who eats a kebab with a knife and fork? What’s the biggest kebab red flag? What’s the most extreme thing you would do for a kebab?
  • A new survey found that kebabs are just as popular as supermarket meal deals with Gen Z, with nearly 50% saying they enjoy eating a kebab sober

3 July 2026: With World Kebab Day fast approaching (Fri 10th July), kebab leaders German Doner Kebab (GDK) are turning this national day into a week long celebration, (World Kebab Week) from 6-12 Jul offering 50% off mains throughout

New data out today in a survey of 2,000 Brits uncovered that London led the way as the nation’s number one kebab city, closely followed by Manchester and Birmingham, with Glasgow and Liverpool completing the top five.

Research also shone a light on Gen Z’s infinite love for the doner kebab. With more than half of Gen Z admitting they’re tired of having the same old lunches revealing that more than 2 in 5 (21%) said they would eat a doner most often for lunch, over 20% who would eat a supermarket meal deal.

Whether for lunch or later in the daytime, almost 50% of Gen Z (47%) said they enjoy eating a kebab sober. Challenging the perception of the kebab as just a late-night post-pub guilty pleasure, almost 2 in 5 of Gen Z (39%) believed the kebab has had a glow-up in recent years, with 1 in 3 saying they would go on a kebab date with someone.

Yesterday, GDK opened the GDK Phone Box in Camden Mark where Londoners came down to confess their kebab secrets. For instance – would you trust someone who eats a kebab with a knife and fork? What’s the biggest kebab red flag? What sauce should be banned forever? Confessors were rewarded with a free GDK OG kebab and merch.

World Kebab Week runs from 6th – 12th July with 50% off mains throughout.
