World Premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Concertino for Clarinet, with BCMG and Music at Malling

Performed by Soloist Jon Carnac, Conductor Thomas Kemp, and the BCMG, Concertino for Clarinet was specially composed by famed composer Mark-Anthony Turnage for Music@Malling, with performances in Birmingham and West Malling, Kent.

Bringing outstanding music to the historic venues of West Malling, Music@Malling’s 2021 Festival marks the return of in-person live events with a hybrid festival delivery format. More details on the festival programme can be found in the attached fact sheet.

Composer Mark-Anthony Turnage is one of the most important creative figures to have emerged in British Music in the last 3 decades.

Turnage has been a resident composer with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and London Symphony Orchestra. His opera, The Silver Tassie, was premiered by English National Opera in 200, winning both the South Bank Show and the Olivier Awards for Opera.
