Artfull Expression was established in The Merlin Centre for Contemporary Design in 1982, with the aim of providing a showcase for jewellery designer-makers in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter.
Artfull Expression prides itself on the one off pieces of artwork available in the gallery, from original prints to bronze sculptures, the gallery pick an eclectic mix from local artists. More than thirty independent designer-makers exhibit here with six of the maker’s workshops in the same building.
As well as the artwork in the shop they have regular changing exhibitions in the Art at Artfull Gallery at the back of the shop. A hidden gem in the quarter providing a platform for unique artwork.
Most of the jewellers Artfull Expression represent are local to the Jewellery Quarter or the West Midlands, and a few are more far-flung – two in deepest Shropshire, one in Stafford, one in Devon, and one on the Isle of Wight. Commisions are also available.
