Independent Venue Week returns to The Victoria with a programme of shows that highlights the breadth and vitality of the UK’s grassroots music scene. Across the week, the venue hosts forward thinking art pop, gritty post punk, intimate acoustic songwriting and a special extended set from one of the country’s most respected indie folk outfits.

Tuesday, 27th January: Oslo Twins, Ray Heart & St Cecilia

Bristol’s Oslo Twins headline with a refined, electronic leaning sound that marks a confident new chapter for the band. Their latest release, produced in their East London studio and shaped by Matteo Buccomino and mastering engineer John Webber, follows the success of their 2023 debut EP Back To Nothing.

Built around a driving bassline and intricate rhythmic detail, the track blends shimmering synths with a subtle emotional pull. Line of Best Fit noted that “each release only seems to get catchier,” capturing the band’s upward momentum.

Support comes from Ray Heart and St Cecilia, both bringing atmospheric, inventive alt pop to the bill.

Tuesday, 27th January: Cam Curtis (Unplugged Session, Free Entry)

In the downstairs bar, West Midlands indie songwriter Cam Curtis performs a free acoustic set of originals and covers, a warm, low key addition to the IVW celebrations.

Wednesday, 28th January: DeafDeafDeaf, Kontours & Rood End

Greater Manchester’s DeafDeafDeaf headline with their distinctive mix of shoegaze haze and jagged post punk, channelling the tension and grit of their city’s musical lineage. Their live shows are known for their intensity and emotional weight.

They’re joined by Birmingham’s Kontours and newcomers Rood End, creating a night built around raw edges, heavy textures and uncompromising energy.

Friday, 30th January: The Dunwells

Leeds born indie folk/Americana band The Dunwells bring Independent Venue Week at The Victoria to a close with a special extended performance. Renowned for their rich harmonies and emotive songwriting, the band have toured internationally and shared stages with Mumford & Sons, Tom Jones, Scouting for Girls, Bryan Adams and Elbow. Their catalogue spans seven releases, each showcasing their craft as seasoned storytellers and performers.

Independent Venue Week at The Victoria offers a concentrated look at the creativity and diversity thriving in grassroots spaces, a celebration of the artists shaping the future of live music, and the venues that support them. Tickets available now.
