Bristol indie favourites Make Friends return to Birmingham on Friday 13th November with a headline show at The Sunflower Lounge, joined by Lucky Number You and Faucet Van Gough for a bill packed with melody, energy and forward-thinking guitar music.

Inspired by the angular indie-dance of Foals’ Antidotes era and the melodic warmth of Bombay Bicycle Club, Make Friends have spent the last few years building a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting rising bands. Their songs combine driving rhythms, expansive choruses and emotionally honest lyricism, creating music that feels both uplifting and deeply relatable.

The band’s recent output has seen them continue their ascent, with BBC Introducing support, Radio 1 airplay and a coveted Maida Vale session helping establish them on a national level.

Their ‘Loaded Fun’ EP, created with producer and co-writer Ed Nash of Bombay Bicycle Club, showcased a band expanding their sound while retaining the infectious indie energy that first won them fans.

Support comes from Lucky Number You, whose blend of pop, rock and synth-driven influences channels the spirit of classic alternative music while sounding fresh and contemporary. Their knack for memorable hooks and widescreen melodies has made them a growing favourite on the live circuit.

Completing the lineup are Birmingham’s Faucet Van Gough, bringing their own distinctive take on indie music to a bill packed with creativity and character. Their presence adds a strong local flavour to what promises to be a memorable evening.

With three exciting acts, huge choruses and plenty of indie-dance energy, this Sunflower Lounge show looks set to be one of the standout grassroots gigs of the autumn.
