It’s almost time for one of the biggest sporting events of the summer, as the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup gets underway tomorrow!
The Women’s T20 World Cup will be the biggest ever, with tickets breaking through the 200,000 mark. The appetite for world class women’s cricket both in the UK and globally is undeniable, with this year’s competition already set to surpass the previous record of 136,549 fans attending the 2020 edition in Australia. The tournament is due to begin in spectacular style, with the London West End cast of Wicked performing at the opening match at Edgbaston where England face Sri Lanka on Friday, 12 June.

The tournament will take place in seven iconic venues across the country and Birmingham will be playing its part, hosting four major fixtures at Edgbaston throughout June, including the tournament opener, with the hosts England taking on Sri Lanka on Friday evening.
ICC Women’s T20 World Cup matches in Birmingham
Edgbaston Stadium will welcome seven teams across four fixtures this June, including England, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Netherlands.

- Sunday 14 June Double Header – Bangladesh v Netherlands (10.30am) & India v Pakistan, (2.30pm) Last few tickets remaining

An all-female DJ lineup has been selected as part of the Women’s T20 World Cup Music programme across each venue. Local DJ’s Emily Jones and Jessie Chane will be performing curated DJ segments throughout matchdays, bringing a festival atmosphere to the games! Graham Woodward and Aminah Rahman will also be on hand to host the events bringing the energy and matchday vibes to showcase the biggest Women’s T20 World Cup!

Fans can also soak up the atmosphere of the ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup by heading down to Birmingham’s fan activation to immerse themselves in the energy of the tournament. The event is free to enter – no ticket required. Simply turn up and join in, with activities designed for all ages and abilities.
Attendees will get the chance to:
- Represent Birmingham in the ‘Run Chase Challenge’
- Test your skills against the clock with fast-paced, cricket-inspired games
- Get creative by designing banners and accessories to show your colours
- Learn more about the team captains through an interactive experience
- Discover how to get involved in cricket locally – whether playing, volunteering or supporting the game

Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket 4 Good Clinics
The ICC and UNICEF will also be delivering Cricket 4 Good clinics in local communities for each host city, with cricket stars on hand to give youngsters tips and coaching! Birmingham’s clinic will take place on Monday 15 June with South Africa and Tuesday 16 June with Pakistan.
