A Sparkling Switch On in Edgbaston Village

Calthorpe Estates is getting the festive season off to a sparkling start with this year’s Edgbaston Village Christmas lights switch on. It’s set to take place on Friday 18 November, from 4pm – 6.30pm along Highfield Road in Edgbaston, which will be closed for the evening.

Santa Claus and his helpers will be switching on the lights at St George’s Church, and countdown entertainment will be provided by Capital Radio DJ, Katy Poulsom. Local school choirs will get everyone in the Christmas spirit, and a jazz band will help the evening go with a swing.

To celebrate the big switch on, there will be a special visit from two real-life reindeer, and the restaurants and bars across Edgbaston Village including, The Highfield, The Edgbaston, Comida@21 and Simpsons, will be offering seasonal tipples and snacks to warm up the November night.

Furthermore, there will be gourmet food vans, vintage children’s fairground attractions and face painters lining Highfield Road to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever.

Natasha Walkden, Sales and Marketing Manager for Calthorpe Estates, said:

Last year’s Christmas lights switch on was a great success and there was a very special, festive, family and community feel. This year we wanted to provide even more for everyone to see and enjoy.

We hope everyone comes out to celebrate with us and make the start of Christmas 2016 the best one yet!
