Birmingham’s Rosie Tee Announces New Release Chambers EP With Launch Event!

Birmingham’s flourishing composer/performer Rosie Tee announces the release of her highly-anticipated Chambers EP.

With her sound dubbed ‘a distinctive brand of grown-up art pop’ by The Unsigned Guide, this new release of five original songshave been intuitively pieced together. Each track perfectly balances out the ebb & flow of Rosie’s wandering,dream-like vocals alongside the sporadic movements of her jazz-infused, alternative pop sound. The dynamic, electronic production by multi-disciplinary artist Dan Cippico, embosses Rosie’s scattered harmonies and abstract refrains whilst highlighting her rare and contemporary approach to songwriting.

The EP will be available online on all platforms 29.03.19.

To celebrate its release, there will be an unmissable launch event on Thursday 28th March 2019. Taking place in the unique setting of The Edge, Digbeth, the event promises to be an immersive experience for all that transcends expectations. Experimental theatre group L Y N N E B E C will open the event with a site-specific premiere that visualises the sentiments of Chambers EP through performance. Dynamic, botanical visuals will accompany Rosie’s band of synths, glockenspiel, bass, percussion & electronics. Alongside mixologists creating floral cocktails, merchandise will be screen-printed live by designer & printmaker Substr8.

About

Birmingham’s Rosie Tee is a composer & performer known for her innovative, atmospheric blend of electronic, jazz, classical & pop. Her sound has been hailed as ‘transcendent’ and ‘genre-defying’, straddling the contrasting worlds of rising UK Jazz, alt-pop & contemporary classical. Colour and image are at the centre of Tee’s lyrical writing, depicting imagined scenes and scenarios. Her sound is inspired by the likes of Laura Mvula, Björk & Anna Meredith.

Tee has collaborated closely with her quartet, which features a line-up of Rosie on vocals & glockenspiel, synth & keys (Tom Harris), bass guitar (Dan Cippico) and drums (Kai Chareunsy). Together in October, they recorded a live session at Abbey Road Studios with senior engineer Andrew Dudman of debut single Chambers.

The quartet have since made ‘great waves’ across their Birmingham hometown performing as part of Town Hall/Symphony Hall Jazzlines, Sofar Sounds & This is Tmrw events. A mini-UK tour will mark the release of the Chambers EP in March 2019 with dates penned for London, Manchester & Birmingham. Nominated for Best Jazz Act by the Birmingham Music Awards, Rosie has secured festival appearances at Cheltenham Jazz & Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul.
