BUNDOBUST PRESENTS DIWALI AT HOCKLEY SOCIAL CLUB

On Sunday 12th November, 12pm – 10pm, Hockley Social Club and Bundobust Birmingham are teaming up to celebrate Diwali. The celebrations are open to all, with a full day of food, drink and fun curated to cater to guests of all ages, faiths, and backgrounds.

Guests can expect an eclectic line-up of entertainment and activity, bringing together a diverse mix of artists from different traditions. From 12pm-3pm, it’s a slightly more family-focused affair, with DJs, traditional dhol performances, and free henna from a local mehndi artist. From 3pm-9pm, things will turn up a notch with an Indian-inspired live music performance from Hockley regulars, Shanty Town.

The party will be fuelled by food from Bundobust and two of Hockley Social’s much-loved traders, Dai Pai Dong and Greidy’s Wings & Strips. Bundobust will be taking over two kitchens to bring revellers a line-up of Gujarati street food – expect restaurant favourites, including Vada Pav, Bhajis, Okra Fries, and Chole. Dai Pai Dong by Dan Lee will be serving up their South East Asian-inspired street food – think Szechuan Lamb Flatbread, Hainanese Chicken Rice and Char Siu Bao – while Greidy’s will be on hand with their iconic wings, strips and fries. Keep your eyes peeled for Diwali specials and mithai too.

The Hockley Social bar team will be keeping the drinks flowing all day. Expect their usual epic drinks selection at the main bar, plus cocktails in their on-site speakeasy, Tax Reasons, and coffees, teas and more boozy libations in Café Artum. Bundobust will also be bringing beer fresh from their Manchester brewery, alongside a short selection of cocktails, and have enlisted the help of their friends at Grain & Glass to offer afternoon whisky tastings.

Tickets are £2 on the door and do not need to be pre-booked. All are welcome. Celebrations take place at Hockley Social Club, 60 Hampton St, Birmingham B19 3LU.
