Christine and the Queens today releases new single “A day in the water,” the latest song to be lifted from his acclaimed forthcoming album ‘PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE’, due out this Friday June 9th via Because Music.
The song leads a stunning 20-track record that is a departure not only thematically but also sonically from Chris’s prior albums and takes direct inspiration from Tony Kushner’s play, ‘Angels in America’. Chris embarks on a voyage of self-discovery, paving the way for a captivating and introspective musical experience.
“A day in the water” is the fourth track to be released from the album, following the hypnotic “Tears can be so soft,” the “thoroughly obsessional” (The New York Times) “True love (feat. 070 Shake),” and the “stellar” (PAPER) lead single “To be honest.”
‘PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE’ is written, performed, and produced by Christine and the Queens, with co-production by Mike Dean (Lana Del Rey, Beyonce). The album will feature guest appearances from powerhouses Madonna and 070 Shake.
Christine and the Queens this year curates the legendary Meltdown Festival at London’s Southbank Centre, beginning on the day of the release of ’PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE‘, and running between 9-18 June 2023; the artist will give two headline performances on both days of the finale weekend (both now sold out). He will also be performing at a number of festivals worldwide, including headline slots at Glastonbury Festival and Wilderness Festival, alongside numerous others, before returning to the UK + Ireland in the autumn for a run of headline shows.
