With just a few weeks to go, Birmingham’s Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival (Friday 10 to Sunday 12 July 2026) has released the stage times for the three day festival, along with their dance workshop programme, The Woods line-up and After Party details.
Times for all the acts appearing – from main stage headliners Fabio and Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra and Jordan Rakei to Leftfoot Takeover Stage artists Nightmares On Wax, Sam Redmore and Daptone Records boss Neal Sugarman – are now available for download from the festival’s website, giving those attending an opportunity to start planning their visit.
Meanwhile, the dance workshop schedule features open-level hip hop workshops (in association with Fabric and Marshon Dance Company), Bhangra Bollywood Funk Dance! with Sohan Kailey, and Northern Soul Taster Class with Ed Quigley.
There’s also Drum N Bounce sessions to an infectious drum’n’bass soundtrack; classic soul, funk and disco tunes for SoFunk with tutor Sharon Brown; a chance to Lindy Hop with mid-20th century jazz dance specialists The Swing Era; plus flamenco dance sessions too – with all workshops open to all ages and abilities.
Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul has also revealed the line-up for the festival’s Woods area. Nestled under the park’s lush trees, away from the main stages, it’s a more relaxed retreat, with DJ Raks’ family-friendly block party (Sunday) and Mini-Mixer DJ sessions along with workshops for younger wannabe-DJs (Saturday, Sunday). There’s also The Drop Inn Sessions (Friday) with Deano Ferrino, MillerBB and invited guests from Digbeth’s The Drop Inn; a takeover from exclusively female and gender minority DJ community Selextorhood (Saturday); and a She Creates takeover (Sunday) with AffieJam, Eddy Luna and Lahlia playing jazzy grooves, downtempo sounds and Balearic disco, while wordsmith Demelza hosts a drop-in the poetry writing session.
And for those who want to keep the party vibes going after the main festival has concluded for the night, there’s two Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Official After Parties at the nearby Hare and Hounds, in Kings Heath, Birmingham. Leftfoot mainstays Adam Regan and Matthew Beck are joined by invited special guests for The Leftfoot All-Stars (Friday, 10pm-2am), while Love Affair vs Variations (Saturday, 10pm-2am) promises a mix of house, soul, funk, disco, broken beats, jazz, global rhythms, percussive grooves and more as two iconic Brum club promoters team up for a night to remember.
Set in the picturesque urban Moseley Park, not far from Birmingham city centre, Mostly Jazz Funk and Soul Festival boasts much-anticipated appearances from drum’n’bass heroes Fabio Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra, British soul/R&B legends Soul II Soul, and DJ sets from Hot Chip and Goldie (Friday); Grammy and Ivor Novello-nominated producer and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rakei, ’70s pioneers Cymande, Afro Futurist Sampa The Great and Annie and The Caldwells (Saturday); the classic soul-inspired Jalen Ngonda, Daptone label stars Thee Sacred Souls, rising Aussie soul star Don West, and the Mercury Prize 2025-nominated and Jazz FM Award-winning Emma-Jean Thackray (Sunday).
