“I’ve really wanted to bring a taste of japan (in an true authentic way for a long time, it’s taken a long time to find the right spot and develop the idea enough to get it ready.

Covid has slowed down the opening with our imports from Japan taking longer to arrive than we’d have hoped (such as the 12 ceremonial Sake barrels which should be arriving soon!) but I’m really excitedfor early 2022 when we can finally show Birmingham what we’ve created”.

Shibuya Underground will have a tasting style drinks menu (with a choice of Sake or Japanese Cocktails) with 6 course of drinks on each menu. The bar will also be hosting a “Sake School” lead by Samuel Boulton who is their in house sake expert.

In the build up to the event Shibuya Underground has teamed up with Birmingham foodies Kodawari lead by founder James Brewster.
