A night of sharp edged alt pop, restless post hardcore energy and indie rock bite hits The Sunflower Lounge on Saturday 6th June as Masca headline, with support from The Cape of Good Hope and Otto and the Dark.

Bristol trio Masca operate in their own brilliantly strange universe, somewhere between Marina & The Diamonds’ theatrical pop and No Doubt’s jagged alt rock. Expect classy vocals, janky guitars, saucy basslines and drums that snap with intent. Their songs unfold like tiny pickled onions: sharp, layered, unexpectedly addictive.

Fronted by Tina Maynard (ex Soeur) alongside Jack Hamilton and Ben Holyoake, Masca thrive in the murky middle ground between pop and rock, guided by producer Eliott Vaughan. Signed to Marshall Live and fresh off a run of sold out shows, they’re fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting left field live acts: weird, wonderful, clever and chaotic in all the right ways.

West Midlands outfit The Cape of Good Hope bring a progressive indie rock edge to the bill. Their sound is built on complex rhythms, jagged guitars and a refusal to sit neatly in any one genre. Expect intensity, unpredictability and musicianship that keeps you on your toes.

Leamington Spa trio Otto and the Dark arrive with a mission to put the rock back in indie. After two decades of Monday night rehearsals, they’ve honed a sound full of clean to crunch riffs, melodic vocals and intricate rhythms. Drawing from Jimmy Eat World, Incubus and Death Cab for Cutie, they channel a golden age of emo rock while pushing it somewhere fresh.

A Saturday night packed with alt pop sparkle, post hardcore grit and indie emo heart, unmissable for anyone who loves live music that’s clever, characterful and buzzing with personality.
