A surge of global alt rock energy hits The Victoria on Friday, 26th June, as DYGL headline a special Everywhere At Once show, joined by Kontours and Muthers.
Japanese four piece DYGL (pronounced day glo) have spent more than a decade carving out their place as one of Tokyo’s most electrifying guitar bands. Formed in 2012 by Nobuki Akiyama, Kohei Kamoto, Yotaro Kachi and Yosuke Shimonaka, the group has toured across China, the USA, Europe and the UK, earning acclaim from NME, Japan Times, The Line of Best Fit and Headstuff.
Their five album catalogue charts a band constantly evolving, from their Albert Hammond Jr.–produced debut ‘Say Goodbye to Memory Den’ (2017) through ‘Songs of Innocence & Experience’ (2019), ‘A Daze in a Haze’ (2021), ‘Thirst’ (2022) and 2025’s ‘Who’s in the House?’, recorded and mastered by Stephanie “Slozzaa” Loza. Their newest era leans into a rawer, more physical sound, drawing on Television, Talking Heads, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Live, that shift has made them tighter, louder and more urgent than ever.
DYGL’s touring résumé reads like a festival passport: SXSW, Fuji Rock, Summer Sonic, Treefort, Le Magnifique, Maho Rasop, Concrete & Grass, DMZ, plus support slots with Franz Ferdinand, Pavement, Beach Fossils, Fontaines D.C. and Bad Suns. Their Birmingham return promises a set built for sweat, movement and catharsis.
Coventry’s Kontours bring heavy, blues soaked riffs and a relentless groove. Featured in NME’s Radar and having supported Cage The Elephant, The Enemy and The Subways, they’re currently shaping their first demos. Expect grit, swagger and a live sound that lands like a punch.
Erdington’s Muthers fuse the groove of 60s/70s rock with a modern bite. Originally a power trio inspired by golden age greats, the addition of Lewis Green on guitar expanded their sound into something bigger, bolder and full of character, a perfect local addition to the bill.
Running across the Glastonbury weekend (26–28 June 2026), Everywhere At Once is the UK’s largest multi venue festival, a nationwide celebration of grassroots music powered by The National Lottery and organised by Music Venue Trust.
Hundreds of venues will host shows across the country, spotlighting the spaces where artists take their first steps, where future headliners sharpen their craft and where communities come together for affordable, local live music. National Lottery players have contributed over £1 billion to support music nationwide, helping venues and independent promoters programme bold, exciting lineups all weekend.
This isn’t a festival in a field, it’s a festival on your doorstep. No tents. No traffic. Just the thrill of live music in the intimate rooms where it matters most.
