Families, friends and local teams are invited to don their elf ears and take on a festive 5K at Sanders Park on Sunday 29 November 2026.
Coventry, Warwickshire and Worcestershire Mind (CWW Mind) is bringing their 5K Festive Fun Run – Mental Elf to Bromsgrove this year, with a 12 noon start at Sanders Park. Participants can run, jog or walk at their own pace. Christmas fancy dress is encouraged, and dogs on leads are welcome to join in.
Funds raised will support CWW Mind’s Bereaved by Suicide service in Worcestershire, which offers free, confidential help to children, young people and adults affected by suicide or suspected suicide. The team provides emotional and practical support tailored to each person and helps them access other specialist services where appropriate. People can reach out no matter how much time has passed since their bereavement.
The team also works with schools, offering individual or group support to pupils and helping staff understand how grief can affect children. That can include making space for pupils to talk and planning extra support around difficult dates, such as anniversaries.
Jonathan Cawdron, Head of Services in Worcestershire at CWW Mind, said:
“The money raised by this year’s Mental Elf will directly support adults, children and families across Worcestershire.
“With around 50 deaths by suicide in the county each year, these funds will help provide dedicated support to those affected.
“As demand continues to rise, the money raised will help our Bereaved by Suicide service reach as many people as possible, ensuring more people can access support when they need it.”
Local Bromsgrove personal trainer Francesca King of F10 Fitness, the event’s Fitness Partner, is donating her time to lead the 11.45am warm-up. Participants can also look forward to festive entertainment and a finisher’s medal. There will be prizes for the three fastest runners, Best Dressed Elf and Best Dressed Dog, plus a prize for the individual with the highest fundraising total when the race starts.
