Now in its eleventh year, the Midlands Fashion Awards serves as a platform for the region’s finest undiscovered fashion and creative talent. The awards are designed as a showcase to raise awareness, support excellence and champion those who excel in their field.
Approximately 15 creative talents including accessory designers, fashion stylists, hair and make-up artists and fashion photographers will be selected to exhibit their work; while 15 fashion designers will be invited to showcase their latest collection on the catwalk and receive the recognition they deserve.
MFA 2017 award winner Harriet Eccleston from Derbyshire, said: “It was amazing to be part of such a prestigious event highlighting the breadth of talent outside London. I feel over the moon to have won ‘Young Designer of the Year 2017’, made even more special by the quality of work from the other graduates in the same category. The Midlands Fashion Awards was the step towards becoming an independent designer that I needed after graduating.”
Shortlisted entrants will be invited to meet a panel of judges at the end of June where a brief interview and assessment of their collection or portfolio will be carried out. Judges will select five finalists in each category to go forward to the awards due to take place in October. The panel of judges will consist of industry professionals each of whom brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the judging process.
Founder & Director Jenny Eason said: “The Midlands Fashion Awards 2018 will be held on Friday 12th October 2018 at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham. The awards bring together a wealth of innovative and creative fashion talent from across the region.”
The deadline for applications is Saturday 16th June 2018.
Call to meet the judges and model casting will be held Saturday 30th June, 11am – 3.00pm at the Studio, Cannon Street, Birmingham.
