What Is the Morning Rituals? (+ Meaning)

A morning ritual is a routine like you perform in the morning. Ideally, you want it to be the way you want it to be. However, this does not always happen.

There are many people who would like to get up without snoozing, but do not. Or, for example, they want to meditate or go for a walk in the morning, but don’t do this.

The best way to start your day is to start with a positive and healthy morning ritual. One that works for you instead of against you!

Morning Ritual Successful People

Many successful people use a fixed morning ritual. Saskia Noort, one of the best writers, says that she always writes in the same vest. In fact, without her vest, nothing comes to paper.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook has a similar tick. He wears the same shirt every day. Steve Jobs always started his morning with the question, ‘if today were my last day, would I do what I’m doing today?’

What do they have in common? Are these morning ritual tips that you can do something with? And what makes a morning ritual powerful? From my own experience, I can write down the following advantages:

More rest. Especially if, like me, you choose to get up early. Even the cars aren’t on their way at 6:00. Delicious!

Less stress. You don’t get up early because you have to, but because you want to. You want to get the most out of your day.

The wonderful feeling that you have taken time for yourself in the morning. For the rest of the day, you don’t have to worry about meditating, planning, reading or moving. You do it right in the morning.

You already have the first success of the day. Every morning it feels good to start this early. That doesn’t mean it’s always easy! When the going gets tough, you have to persevere. You will enjoy it for the rest of the day.

Work more productively with the frog method. You have already been busy for an hour before everyone starts working. At this hour of the day, every working person can complete many tasks. Without being disturbed.

My Morning Ritual: What Not to Do!

In the morning, I was always a grumpy person. Someone who woke up every morning rushed and stressed. I finished my morning as fast as possible on a tight schedule to race to catch my train. Sweaty, I walked into the train.

What a days those were. Madness. Idiot even. Who did I think I was? Someone who had to be busy every minute of the day?

I took a closer look at my time and realised I was totally unproductive. Certainly not in the morning. I carried the rushed feeling with me for the rest of my day.

I felt stressed most of the day. Busy, busy, busy… that was how I felt most of the day. I could use a few morning ritual tips. I had to take a trip through Asia to realise how stupid I was doing…..

My Journey and Developing a Positive Morning Ritual!

During my trip through Asia, I looked at possibilities to do things that I didn’t get to in my homeland. One of those things was changing my morning routine.

When I returned to my homeland, I didn’t want to have a busy and rushed life before my trip. During my journey, I tried to change my bad habit into a good one. I made the following appointment with myself:

“For the next 30 days, I’ll get up at 6:00 a.m. every day and start with 15 minutes of exercise. I don’t care if I stay with Asian people in hostels or bedrooms with more men. I do my exercises at 6:00.’

Since then, I have not stopped my morning ritual. In fact. I’m going to expand it. Do you want more discipline to do the same? Change your mindset in just 1 minute.

Tips & Examples of Morning Rituals

Since that first time in Asia, I get up at 5:50 am every morning. At 6 o’clock I start my ‘Golden Hour’. That in short, looks like this:

· Drinks. Every morning I take a large glass of water to compensate for lost fluids.

· Meditate. I started with 1 minute and now do this meditation exercise daily for 15 minutes.

· To move. To warm up my body for the day I do some basic yoga exercises, push-ups and sit-ups.

· Prepare breakfast. Consisting of oatmeal, fruit, raisins, nuts and cottage cheese.

· Read. During breakfast, I usually read one of my top 10 inspiring books.

· Visualize. I close my morning ritual by focusing on my most important goal. That’s what I use this powerful visualisation exercise for.

The clock is ticking at 7:00, and I start preparing for my online courses. It’s time to pop. I never thought I’d ever say that in the morning. But….. How did I manage this? And more importantly, how do you achieve this?
