Birmingham-based rising star, Amira Macey-Michael, has landed a prime role in the brand-new Netflix film, Robin Robin, shortlisted for animated short film at the Oscars. This is the 12-year-old’s second major screen credit, where she will be voicing the character ‘Dink’ in the upcoming animation.
The young actress is set to star alongside Golden Globe winner, Gillian Anderson, and Oscar nominee, Richard E. Grant, in the new Netflix short, which is set to release later this month. Following the life of a bird raised by mice, ‘Robin Robin’ will center around a journey of self-discovery with Amira as the voice of Dink, the youngest of the mice children. The star-studded cast also includes big names such as Bronte Carmichael from ‘Christopher Robin’ and ‘The Big Sick’ star, Adeel Akhtar.
Amira trains at the renowned talent management and television, film and theatre training programme, Stagebox. Training since the launch of Birmingham Stagebox and represented by Stagebox management, this marks her second screen credit as she heads into her second year with Stagebox. She will also soon be making her CBBC debut, following filming for a new TV show earlier this year.
