Society Birmingham is raising a stein this October, as the city centre food and drink destination will transform into a Bavarian-inspired celebration for Oktoberfest, bringing a taste of Munich to Manchester with plenty of beer, independent food trader specials and live performances from The Bavarian Trumps.

With the Oktoberfest festivities taking place on 2nd October, guests can grab a table for just a £10 deposit, which includes a stein of one of Society’s exclusive Oktoberfest specials. Served for one night only is a choice of six of Munich’s official Oktoberfest breweries on draft: Augustiner, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr, Hofbräu, Löwenbräu and Spaten. Tables can be booked here

And it wouldn’t be Oktoberfest without a proper party! The Bavarian Trumps, the ultimate Bavarian-themed party band, will be bringing the oompah beats, booming brass and plenty of German spirit to Society. Expect everything from classic Bavarian tunes to pop favourites with a German twist, creating the ultimate beer-hall atmosphere as the celebrations get into full swing.

Guests are encouraged to arrive hungry, as Society’s independent traders will be putting their own spin on Oktoberfest classics, transporting diners straight to the Bavarian beer halls of Munich.

The limited-edition specials, created exclusively for the celebrations, will include:

  • Pan-Asian pros Manzoku will be serving up slow-cooked halal currywurst with fries, topped with their signature in-house curry sauce.
  • Brum’s best burger joint Bostin Burgers, will be slinging out a choice of either succulent fried chicken breast, or a juicy British beef patty, with mustard, sauerkraut, smoked cheese finished with a pretzel crumb, complimented by Bavarian beer sauce.
  • Indian street food icons Asha’s will be serving up Aloo Schnitzel Chaat- a creative Indo-German fusion dish that pairs a crispy, spiced potato cutlet with vibrant, tangy Indian street food toppings.
  • Pizza pros Amore Pizza will be switching up their authentic Italian roots with Margherita pizzas topped with wurstel and chips, or the ‘Bavarian Special’, made with Fior di latte, smoked speck, roasted potatoes, red onion and rosemary.
  • Japanese sando specialists Shokopan will be dishing up German inspired Brisket sandos with juicy beef brisket, buttered shokupan, sauerkraut, melted emmental, dill pickles and traditional Dusseldorf mustard.

Fancy dress is encouraged, although not essential, and there’ll also be a prize for the best dressed in Birmingham.

With Society’s extensive drinks offering and five independent food traders all under one roof, the venue provides a one-stop destination for an Oktoberfest celebration in the heart of Manchester.
