SuperTech appoints Deloitte director to provide founder support

SuperTech, the UK’s only professional and business services technology partnership, has  appointed Suzi Evans to support the region’s burgeoning ProfTech and FinTech sector.

Evans has held senior roles in three of the top four accountancy firms, during which she has specialised in the development of new business practices and offerings.

Through her roles at Deloitte and PWC Suzi successfully launched and managed emerging business practices, embracing technology to progress traditional consultancy into highly desirable SAAS (software as a service) offerings.

Evans’ role will run alongside her existing position as a Director in Investment Management at Deloitte.

Evans said: “I’m a born and bred Brummie with a keen interest in the region’s FinTech and wider ProfTech sector. During my 20-year career in real estate and financial services I’ve seen technology move from being a nice to have, only available to the business elite, to being embraced by businesses of all sizes in their standard operating model. We still have a huge way to go in the Midlands and SuperTech will be instrumental in progressing these sectors for the global market.

“A lot of the businesses and start-ups being profiled that are joining the SuperTech initiative are transforming the industries they operate in, embracing technology and ensuring businesses of all kinds can operate more effectively and profitably, creating new jobs and opportunities along the way.

“My aim in supporting the professional technology eco-system through SuperTech is to help ensure that my daughter grows up in a West Midlands that is a forward-thinking, tech enabled region providing world-class services to companies globally. We’re already seeing this with established businesses like Geospatial Ltd. and Nimbus Maps, and the start-ups SuperTech is launching like Ethical Equity and the soon to be unveiled TalentX. SuperTech is designed to help supercharge this and we’re incredibly fortunate to have the world’s only business and technology super cluster here in the Midlands.”

SuperTech executive lead, Hilary-Smyth Allen said: “Suzi has been a passionate advocate of both fintech and the West Midlands for years, championing growth for both her clients’ and through her own start-up ventures, so she is a natural fit for SuperTech as we enter our second year.  That somebody of Suzi’s calibre is so excited to join our mission indicates that something is going right and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve this year with the injection of her energy.”

SuperTech is currently running its second free-to-access pre-accelerator, which will see 20 new business receive fully funded tech development. Suzi is supported by industry leaders for SuperTech Seeds, which also includes fintech entrepreneur and no-code specialist Jof Walters, serial entrepreneur Kali Bagary and financial services and FinTech marketing specialist Julia Streets.

The SuperTech Seeds pre-accelerator programme is open to any UK national or British passport holder aged 16 and above within the West Midlands region. To find out more and get involved visit: www.supertechwm.com/seeds
