Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Taste & Liquor Food Bank provides emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.
In a joint statement: Manga Singh, CEO and Sharnita K Athwal, Artistic Director of Taste & Liquor Group says:
It’s important to create diverse cultural opportunities for the wellbeing of our residents, but it’s just as important to support a community: create an impact for positive change and for some, a little breathing space at a time of great need.
Our aim is simple, to build up shopping list for local organisations, charity’s and services that can provide food for those who need that extra support to live.
Taste and Liquor FB relies on donations from the community to feed people in need. They are in the need of unopened items such as UHT Juice, Tinned Rice Pudding, Soup, Tined Food, Toiletries, Washing-up Liquid, Soap Powder, and Toilet Roll.
Small Deliveries are accepted on Saturday at Taste & Liquor Southside’s event from 12.00pm to 5.00pm (excluding Bank Holiday Weekend). On Monday, deliveries will be made to local organisations.
Please email them direct if you need to arrange a large collection (Mondays only.) Your gifts of food will help stop local people going hungry. Or if you are a local food bank in need of donations please let them know.
