‘Techno Cafe’ lands back in Birmingham for its third edition, this time evolving its signature all-dayer event celebrating the legacy of techno music. On Saturday 17th October 2026 ‘Techno Cafe’ will open its doors at lunchtime through midnight for a 12-hour programme of DJ workshops, conversation, industry insight, open decks, and a forum for the wider community to join. The project highlights local DJs and musicians alongside touring and guest acts, showcasing talent from across the spectrum while presenting dynamic and progressive sounds from the Birmingham techno scene during interactive afternoon sessions before a nighttime club schedule of music.
After a number of events held between Sheffield, Liverpool, and London, TC returns to the UK’s second city, and the project is excited to exhibit the Birmingham scene and share an appreciation of arguably the most influential region for techno in the UK.
This time; event adaptations feature a ‘female & non-binary’ DJ workshop led by soon-to-be-announced guest DJ, a panel-conversation led by local women and gender expansive DJ community ‘Selextorhood’, and time set aside for the new ‘TC Forum’ providing a space for budding DJs, independent musicians, industry workers, or simply music fans, to meet, chat ideas, share music, or mix with the music community. These sessions are joined by the usual ‘Open Decks’ workshop led by TC resident DJs.
Full details coming soon including line-up announcement, tickets, and how to attend the afternoon sessions. For now, there is an online RSVP sign-up form to register interest.
‘Techno Cafe’ is a friendly and accessible space for nice people to dance together. Families are welcome. Please contact the TC team directly regarding guidance on venue curfews, under-18’s, and further information.
