The New Art Gallery Walsall provided the setting for an afternoon of conversation, connection and community spirit as Walsall Awards – Business & Community hosted its “Meet, Greet & Something to Eat” reception on Thursday 1 October 2026.
The invitation-only gathering brought together trustees, ambassadors, judging panel members, sponsors and invited guests, building momentum towards the inaugural awards evening on Saturday 21 November 2026.
A highlight of the reception was the announcement of Well Wishers, the charity of Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, as the official charity partner of Walsall Awards – Business & Community. Representatives Georgie and Nicole joined guests for a warm welcome as the partnership was introduced.
The partnership places support for local healthcare at the heart of an event celebrating the businesses, organisations and individuals making a difference across Walsall.
Ali Mahmood, Co-Founder and Chair of Trustees of Walsall Awards – Business & Community, said:
“Seeing so many people come together with a shared passion for Walsall was something special. Our ‘Meet, Greet & Something to Eat’ reception was an opportunity to build relationships, share ideas and celebrate the people helping us bring these inaugural awards to life.
“We are delighted to welcome Well Wishers as our official charity partner. Our local NHS touches the lives of so many families, and this partnership gives us an opportunity to raise awareness of the charity’s work and encourage support from our business and community networks.
“We want these awards to create connections that continue long after the evening itself. This is about celebrating achievement, supporting one another and giving something back to our town. Walsall, ay we!”
The reception was hosted by Walsall Awards ambassador Nikki Tapper MBE, with official photographer and ambassador Dr Denise Maxwell of Lensi Photography capturing the occasion.
Guests also heard about inWalsall Magazine, which will launch at the awards evening and share stories celebrating the town’s people, businesses and communities.
The inaugural black-tie gala will take place at Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium, home of Walsall FC, bringing together celebration, entertainment and networking.
Businesses, organisations and individuals are invited to support the awards through sponsorship, table and ticket purchases, and by helping raise awareness across their networks.
