Kennedy’s Pub Opens Friday in Moseley

Moseley is about to celebrate the opening of Kennedy’s Pub, the newly restored community pub taking over the site formerly known as The One Trick Pony Club. Now under independent, family ownership, the venue has undergone a refresh to bring back the warmth, atmosphere, and charm of a traditional pub.

The newly restored pub opens to the public this Friday 28 November at 12pm

The new owners, a local family passionate about traditional hospitality, have restored the interior and refocused the offer on what they believe Moseley wants most: a simple pub — welcoming, comfortable, and centred on community. .

“From day one, our goal has been simple: to bring back the type of pub you can pop into any day of the week and feel right at home,” said Gary McDonnell, Joint Owner of Kennedy’s.. “Good beer, good food, good company — nothing gimmicky, just a classic pub that anyone can go into with the added bonus of live sports and music.”

Live Sport Seven Days a Week

Kennedy’s has been fitted with an array of screens throughout the venue, ensuring live sports are available every day. From Premier League fixtures and international football, to rugby, cricket, boxing and more, Kennedy’s aims to become Moseley’s go-to sports venue. A giant outdoor garden screen means key matches and tournaments can also be enjoyed in the open air.

The garden has been given a spruce up and now features a heated marquee, allowing guests to enjoy the outdoor space year-round, no matter the weather.

Traditional Pub Food and Drinks

The kitchen at Kennedy’s focuses on classic pub dishes: hearty, familiar favourites served without fuss. Expect well-executed staples such as burgers, pies, fish and chips and bar snacks — all designed to pair perfectly with a cold pint. Sunday Roasts will start in the new year.

The drinks line-up features a strong range of beers, ciders and ales, with a rotating selection of local options, plus wines, spirits, and alcohol-free choices.

Live Music, Sport & Interactive Darts

Alongside live sports, the pub will host regular live music, bringing together local performers and established acts for weekend entertainment. The launch weekend will feature Lynne and the Encore as well as Push to Play. On Sunday’s there will be speed quizzing.

For something a little different, Kennedy’s also offers interactive darts, giving customers an engaging, high-energy social experience suitable for groups, celebrations or casual nights out.

A Pub for Everyone

Designed to be a community hub, Kennedy’s is set up to accommodate casual visits, group gatherings, and bigger match-day crowds.

“Community is at the heart of everything we’re doing,” Mr McDonnell added. “We want Kennedy’s to be the kind of place where people meet and unwind — where Moseley feels like Moseley and where we are part of the Moseley pub community”
