Supersonic Festival Market Place Returns this April celebrating Independent Culture in Birmingham!

Supersonic Festival’s much-loved Market Place returns in 2026, taking over the Zellig Building in the heart of Digbeth on Saturday 25th April. Free and open to all, the event is presented in partnership with The Goths Playground and the team at Zellig, long-time champions of Digbeth’s independent and alternative cultural scene.

Expecting a vibrant hub of independent creativity, this year’s Market Place will bring together record sellers, zine-makers, illustrators, DIY designers and purveyors of curious handmade goods from rare vinyl to beautifully crafted oddities.

The 2026 edition will feature an incredible range of independent vendors selected by Supersonic Festival, The Goths Playground and Zellig. Vendor highlights include Black Raven (taxidermy/florist fusion), Steel Kill (stainless steel chainwear), Dean of The Dead’s horror-themed hot sauce, Black Lodge Press (DIY queer culture and working-class history zines and prints), Boulderdash Zine (for enthusiasts of stones, drones and noise), artist and illustrator Bunny Bissoux, independent record label Mute Records, Miss Goodweather (bold, vintage-inspired waterproof clothing and accessories) and Buffs Studio (handmade, darkly delicious crochet gifts), with many more still to be announced.

But the Market Place is more than just shopping. Throughout the day visitors can take part in a lively programme of free drop-in activities, including Supersonic workshops with Craftspace Collective Shelanu and Block Printed Protest Banners with artist Natasha Taheem. And House of Thieves Tattoo will be holding a special walk in flash day, right in the heart of the market, all Artists will have lots of new flash designs to celebrate Supersonic.

And if you need to refuel, stop by the Supersonic Tea Bar for cakes (including vegan and gluten-free options), our favourite pocket snack, the mighty samosa plus drinks from Attic Brew Co and a festival special cocktail. Grab a treat, rest your feet and enjoy the sounds courtesy of our guest Supersonic DJs.

An afternoon of discovery awaits, packed with inspiring finds and independent culture in full force.
