The ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Kicks off in Birmingham Friday 12th June and Saturday 13th June

England cricket star Heather Knight brought the spirit of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to Birmingham this morning alongside former teammate and three-time World Cup winner Katherine Sciver-Brunt, ahead of Edgbaston hosting the tournament’s opening match as England take on Sri Lanka this tonight.

Heather Knight and Katherine Sciver-Brunt kickstarted the cricket festivities early this morning, as fan activities brought the energy to the city centre. Hosted in Victoria Square on Friday 12 June (10:00am – 5:00pm), Saturday 13 June (10:00am – 6:00pm) and Sunday (10:00am – 4:00pm) fans can represent Birmingham in the run chase challenge and test their skills against the clock with fast paced, cricket-inspired games and activities.

The tournament kicks-off with a performance from the West End cast of Wicked in Birmingham tonight before Edgbaston hosts an incredible double header on Sunday 14 June as Bangladesh face tournament newcomers Netherlands ahead of an exciting match-up between India and Pakistan.
