The former Cuban Embassy site is bringing together bold burgers, Caribbean Sunday roasts and a packed programme of live music and DJs.
The Bull’s Head in Moseley has re-opened and is serving up a fresh take on pub dining and nightlife with the launch of its Bull & Bun menu, combining seriously good burgers, quality ingredients and locally sourced meat with a lively events programme.
Located at 23 St Mary’s Row, at the former home of the Cuban Embassy, the venue is building on Moseley’s vibrant social scene with a menu of signature burgers, pub favourites and indulgent sides. The Bullring (£12.95) features a smashed beef patty, American cheese, dill pickles and house Bull sauce, while the Toro (£13.50) turns up the flavour with melted Manchego, smoky chorizo jam and crispy shallots. Other highlights include buttermilk-fried chicken burgers, crispy wings, sticky BBQ pork ribs and mac and cheese bites. The menu also features locally sourced meat from Brown’s of Harborne.
Sundays bring a Caribbean twist to the traditional roast, with the Caribbean Sunday Roast served from 1pm to 5pm, combining the comfort of a classic carvery with the bold flavours of Caribbean cooking.
There’s plenty happening beyond the menu, too. The Bull’s Head hosts a programme of live music, DJ sets and club nights, spanning everything from R&B and garage to hip-hop, neo-soul and global dancefloor sounds. With cocktails, food and entertainment under one roof, it’s a destination for everything from a relaxed meal to a late night out.
Owner Nick Rendall said, “We want The Bull’s Head to be somewhere people come for great food, brilliant music and a proper atmosphere. Bull & Bun gives us a menu full of big flavours, quality ingredients and a nod to our Birmingham roots, while our Caribbean Sunday Roast brings something a little different to the traditional Sunday get-together. Add in our live music, DJs and late-night events, and there’s always a reason to come through the door. We’re proud of the building’s history as the former Cuban Embassy, but we’re very much focused on giving it a new lease of life as one of Moseley’s go-to places to eat, drink and socialise.”
