Chi Kitchen Launch & Press Review

Grapevine Birmingham was invited to the grand launch of Chi Kitchen Pan Asian Restaurant in Debenhams, Bullring last night and what a great welcome for us all, with a DJ, free food, drink and a complimentary goody bag tailored for both men and women. Our reviewer and contributor Hannah Court covers the story in brief with photos from the evening:

After a speech from Eddie Lim he promised us there would be no conveyor belt sushi and it is all freshly prepared, no MSG and the meat is halal in his restaurant Chi Kitchen which was superbly set out for the evening’s guests.

We were treated to prosecco and Chi passion drinks before the chefs presented us with dishes off the menu, which has been created by Group Executive Chef Ian Pengelley. He is one of the UK’s leading experts in Asian cuisine and his food lives up to expectation.

Vegetarian spring rolls, wagyu beef, and sushi rolls. Our favourite was definitely the billowing nitrous oxide that was with the sushi dishes, it made for quite the spectacle. Dessert was delicious apple gyoza and a gorgeous coconut wrap.

Chi Kitchen also do breakfast including eggs benedict which we can’t wait to try! All of the dishes are presented with a modern twist however that authentic Pan Asian taste remains and the ingredients are all natural and fresh.

Chi Kitchen is located on the 3rd floor of Debenhams Bullring store, make sure you check it out if you get sore feet whilst you are shopping! You definitely won’t regret it.
