A cult variety show developed by surrealist duo Foka Wolf and Tat Vision will this year take its inspiration from corporate culture and office parties during the Christmas period.
BIZ MASS, an ‘unhinged festive spectacular’, is the fourth such seasonal offering from the subversive artists at independent live music venue Nortons in the post-industrial district of Digbeth, Birmingham.
Foka Wolf and Tat Vision, who pledge to turn their attention to Q4 KPIs’, Yuletide watercooler gossip, end-of-year management jargon, and the ‘art of circling back to a time before circling back was a thing’during the event, have steadily built a revered following across the UK for their subversive and madcap projects and productions.
Following the success of previous productions Piss Mass, Fist Mass, Crisp Mass and two sold out editions of wrestling extravaganza Royal Brumble, BIZ MASS follows the duo’s now well-tested format blending live music, drag, stand-up comedy, burlesque, performance art, and party games.
Co-producer Foka Wolf said: “We are very happy to be announcing another Christmas variety show. On the night we have live music, burlesque, comedy, games and high-end chaos, all for local charity St Basils.
“This year’s theme is Christmas office party, so expect snogging up water coolers, photocopied genitals and final warnings from HR. We wanna touch base with some low-hanging fruit and unpack some synergy.”
“We will give a free shot to anyone wearing a lanyard or in possession of the holy trinity of highlighters (pink, yellow, green).
“We love putting this show on and feel like it’s important to cross-pollinate culture in Birmingham to keep it energised. If you’ve been before you know the craic, if you haven’t, expect the best sensory overload your eyes and ears have ever eaten.”
The event continues the duo’s mission to reinvent the traditional variety show for a new generation, celebrating the city’s independent arts and entertainment scene in all its eccentric forms.
This year’s line-up is headlined by enigmatic garage punk duo Black Mekon, and also features Birmingham jazz, soul and R&B performer Call Me Unique and burlesque showgirl Mimi Mariama, who makes her BIZ MASS debut.
Birmingham comedy favourite Barbara Nice returns as the self-appointed head of the organised fun committee, overseeing party games and general frivolity, while rising stand-up comedian Tal Davies joins the mayhem.
Live music will also come courtesy of folk-rock act Pork Chop and the wonderfully unpredictable Burt Bacharackhams, whose surreal musical comedy promises to take the evening into even stranger territory.
Keeping the festivities moving will be house DJ Shall We?, providing the soundtrack to an office party where normal workplace rules are unlikely to apply.
The corporate Christmas theme will see the hosts sporting shoulder pads of extraordinary proportions, with party games, office antics and enough questionable behaviour to keep an entire HR department occupied well into the new year.
BIZ MASS co-producer Tat Vision added: “See you end of play for start of play.”
Beyond the chaos, BIZ MASS will once again support Birmingham charity St Basils, marking the fourth collaboration between the event organisers and the organisation, which helps young people aged 16–25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Barrie Hodge, director of Income generation at St Basil’s said: “Every night St Basil’s accommodates 600+ young people facing homelessness across the West Midlands. This is only made possible with the help of our fantastic supporters.
“A huge thank you goes to Birmingham artists Fokawolf and Tatvison for throwing their ingenious creativity, artistic mischief, and ridiculous levels of energy into their epic fundraising events at Nortons Birmingham.
“Not only are they putting on an incredible event, but the art, talent and platform makes a real difference in the lives of young people who need support.”
St Basils are short of £16 for every young person who stays with them every night.
To date, Fokawolf and Tat Vision events at Nortons Digbeth have raised a total of £3894 – giving 243 young people the chance to feel safe, grow in confidence and build a future they can believe in.
Fundraising activities throughout the evening will include a dedicated donation station, a charity raffle featuring prizes donated by local independent businesses, and an auction of exclusive artworks contributed by local artists. All proceeds from the raffle and art auction will go to St Basils.
BIZ MASS takes place at Nortons Digbeth, Birmingham, on Thursday 10 December 2026. Tickets, priced from £15 plus booking fee are available from See Tickets
