From Digbeth to the Jewellery Quarter, here are four brilliant ways to ring in the new year in Birmingham. Whether you’re after a disco blowout, a melting pot of garage, grime & hip-hop or something a bit different at your local, there’s a little something for everyone.

An Out Of This World Cosmic Disco is coming to The Old Crown

Strap on your space helmet and get ready to ring in the new year at the Digbeth Disco In Space at The Old Crown. Sunday 31st December sees Birmingham’s oldest pub transform itself into an intergalactic discotheque for one night, and one night only. Tickets are on sale now via Design My Night.

The Old Crown is renowned in Birmingham for putting on some incredible events, be it a pub quiz hosted by Shaun Wallace from The Chase or an immersive circus-themed birthday party. This New Year’s Eve it’s no different, be prepared to teleport out of this world at the Digbeth Disco In Space.

You can expect two rooms of DJs spinning the very best disco, funk & boogie spanning across the bar and into the heated beer garden. There will also be drag hosts, a cosmic dance-off and the highly anticipated countdown to Midnight. Be sure to get your best clobber on too as there are prizes going for the best fancy dress if you feel like going full monty.

Boogie Down this New Year’s Eve at The Night Owl!

See in 2024 the right way this year at Digbeth’s retro hotspot, The Night Owl. December 31st is set to be the biggest night of the year as The Night Owl presents a night of live funk, disco and indie. You can also expect their very best resident DJs all night long and plenty of bubbly flowing.

This New Year’s Eve you can expect live performances from disco diva Dorothy Ella who will be bringing two sets of live funk & disco tunes – both originals and some classic covers. You can also look forward to DJ sets from resident DJs Mazzy Snape, Ed Edwards, Sonny & Spare, Liam McKeown and Ross Carley who will be spinning a whole heap of soul, funk, boogie, Motown, disco, mod, rock & indie – basically all the best bits about going to The Night Owl.
