Gulp welcomes Jashan Sippy – founder of Sugar & Space (Mumbai) – to Birmingham

I am looking forward to welcoming Jashan Sippy to Birmingham for a week of conversation and cooking (15-19 November). Jashan is the founder of pioneering Sugar & Space: Food Experience Architects in Mumbai.

On Wednesday 17 November Gulp will partner with Jashan to present Eating Without Eyes, a unique ‘dining in the dark’ experience that has been presented in Mumbai, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Barcelona, Kampala (Uganda) and Taichei (Taiwan) – Gulp will host its UK premiere.

This thought provoking event has been carefully designed to engage the senses where guests are blindfolded as they work their way through 10 delicious courses of smells, tastes and textures. The deprivation of sight invites the diners to rely on their other senses and to question which sensations are heightened when they can’t see what’s on their plate?

Eating Without Eyes is an intimate occasion for 10 diners seated together within Gulp’s private dining room. The event aims to stimulate lively conversation, and guests will be given ample time in between courses and at the end of the experience to discuss and process their thoughts.

I am so excited to present Eating Without Eyes at Gulp, it is sure to be an exceptional evening of dining and conversation for those wanting a unique multi sensory experience,

It is the perfect opportunity for those seeking an alternative event and I’m delighted to be hosting this at Gulp and collaborating with Jashan on the menu.

Included in the ticket price:
– Welcome cocktail
– Ten multi sensory courses
– A post-eating presentation and discussion

Tickets £80 each. Please email me at kayewinwood@gmail.com to book.
