There’s a new kid on the block as Bar + Block gets set to open its second steakhouse in Birmingham this spring. Launching on Monday 27th March, the nationwide steakhouse will be bringing its signature hand-cut steaks, spectacular grills and cocktail creations to Exchange Square within the brand-new retail and dining hub.
Renowned for hand-cut steaks, prepared on site by expert chefs, satisfy your carnivorous cravings with an ever-changing selection of 30-day aged steaks. From rump to ribeye, fillet to sirloin, all steaks are sourced from British and Irish Angus breeds, renowned for their taste, tenderness and unique marbling, with a monthly Butcher’s Block special showcasing different cuts and flavours.
Can’t choose? There will also be a host of speciality signatures, including the popular 10oz Spiral Cut Fillet marinated in chimichurri for 24 hours, Steak Sampler with a selection of 4oz steaks, sirloin, fillet and rump and the Tomapork – a British bone-in pork steak served with homemade apple chimichurri and mini garlic potatoes, cooked on the KOPA charcoal oven to lock in flavour.
Alongside steaks, there will be grills, salads and hand-ground burgers, while, new for spring, Bar + Block will be taking a trip to the Mediterranean with small plates of Pulled beef and houmous flatbread and King scallops with samphire and lemon, plus mains of Harissa Salmon with charred vegetables and mixed grains, and a Chicken Souvlaki with red onion and peppers.
For vegetarians and flexitarians, plant-based options include Tomato bruschetta with a stone-baked flatbread and the Vegan Garden Gourmet Burger – a Garden Gourmetä patty topped with a cheezy vegan slice.
All-day dining menus also include unlimited breakfasts and a great value lunch and early dinner offer, while Sundays play host to indulgent sharing roasts, with the choice of sliced Aberdeen Angus sirloin, Rump of lamb or half a chicken served with Yorkies, cheddar cauliflower cheese and all the trimmings.
When it comes to drinks, Bar + Block’s creative bartenders will be on hand to serve up a selection of craft beers and ciders, alongside a carefully curated wine list and creative signature cocktails. There’s also a two for one offer on all classic cocktails, available every day from 5pm-7pm, along with an exclusive signature serve, the Chock a Block, inspired by the nearby Cadbury’s World with a sweet mix of Absolut Vanilia Vodka, Bailey’s Choc Luxe, Salted caramel syrup and toffee sauce.
The restaurant and bar itself will feature modern design details with a sleek bar with copper detailing, comfy booth seating and plush furnishings. Decorative touches include rustic reclaimed wood panelling, contemporary artwork and the brand’s signature neon cow.
Located in Exchange Square, next to the Premier Inn and near Birmingham’s key transport hub, Bar + Block will be open seven days a week from 27th March.
