The Melon Ground Sessions Continue!

The Melon Ground sessions at Castle Bromwich Gardens bring soulful live music to the historic gardens on Thursday evenings throughout the summer, hosted by guitarist Vo Fletcher – a solo musician with a wide range of accomplished styles.

The events focus on delivering great melodies with plenty of room for improvisation. After over a year without live music, Castle Bromwich Gardens are happy to welcome their musical friends to play something in a way it’s not been played before and probably will not be played again – lost forever to float off into the gardens on the summer breezes. The sessions offer a truly unique experience by bringing together combinations of musicians who will perhaps only play together once in a lifetime in the Grade II* listed gardens.

This event remains limited in capacity with only 50 tickets available, ensuring a safe, yet intimate atmosphere in the gorgeous Melon Ground. Refreshments will be available from the garden’s Courtyard cafe cabin and picnics are positively welcome.

The music will begin from 7:15pm, however ticket holders may arrive from 6pm should they wish to explore the rest of the gardens beforehand! Come down to see the beautiful Baroque Gardens and experience some of the finest instrumental music across The Midlands.

So far, the sessions have been an absolute delight – the gardens have been pleased to welcome talent such as William Murphy, Ric Sanders and Phil Bond alongside Vo! We continue to bring you brilliant music on Thursday 24th June where Vo will be joined in the Melon Ground by the talented guitarist and oud player, Sam Slater. Sam has enjoyed a fantastic career as a musician doing everything from performing to composing and producing to playing the Arabic oud in a multitude of different projects.
He’ll be bringing his gypsy jazz, flamenco and contemporary classical flare to the gardens alongside Vo for a long summer evening of guitar in the gardens.
