The Sun on The Hill

Located on Bennetts Hill opposite the South American inspired Bodega Cantina and next to Wetherspoons, The Sun on The Hill stands out as a cool, upbeat city centre bar.

Far from commercial, this establishment is quirky and independently run with trendy locals, party-going students and after-work office drinkers.

The Sun on The Hill offers people in the city centre a place to meet and socialise in relaxed friendly surroundings and it’s recently had a make-over, with a slightly saloon-style ambiance.

Bare brick and blue painted wood features are highlighted by a Victorian feel which fits well with the architecture of surrounding streets.

There has been good care and attention taken when delivering the bar’s menus, considering the bar is sandwiched between a Wetherspoons and a Michelin star restaurant, the food on offer hits the spot.

For those familiar with the pub, you may be interested to see the brand new refurbished mezzanine with its own bar!

What’s on at The Sun

The Sun on The Hill is geared up for music and live entertainment with a small stage at the back which plays host to a selection of Birmingham’s best alternative DJs over the weekend. Sundays offer up a well established live music night, right in the heart of town and it’s free entry!

Many of the city’s respected DJs entertain the punters, from Maz (Chicks Dig Jerks) to DJs from local musicians Troumaca. Birmingham needs more like this.. Expect a busy scene on weekends! There are great facilities for watching sports, with major sporting events displayed on the large flat screen TVs.

Many favourite pub classics and traditional dishes are made with locally sourced ingredients and prepared fresh daily. From handmade burgers to breakfasts and full Sunday roasts, there’s a variety of choices to suit vegetarians also, and lighter lunchtime options with a variety of sandwiches.
