The Birmingham ‘neighbourhood restaurant’ will offer lunchtime bookings on Saturdays from 3rd December
Birmingham neighbourhood Italian restaurant, Tropea, is set to open for lunch on Saturdays.
Beginning on 3rd December, guests will be able to book a table for lunch at Tropea on Saturdays between 12pm – 1.15pm.
Tropea’s usual ever-changing seasonal menu will be served during lunch hours, with dishes including Burrata with sweet Calabrian peppers, rocket, hazelnuts and basil oil, Bomboloni (small doughnuts) filled with gorgonzola dolce and pickled walnut puree, Pappardelle with venison shoulder ragu and 24 month parmigiano reggiano, Seafood Risotto with mussels, baby squid and red prawn, Neapolitan Sausage with parmesan polenta and red onion agrodolce and Aubergine Parmigiana.
The cocktail menu includes Paper Plane, Plymouth Navy Negroni, Olive Leaf Gin Martini, Blackberry Daiquiri, Saliza Amaretto Sour, Elderflower Lemon & Mint Spritz and the alcohol-free Crodino Spritz.
A selection of high quality Italian wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks is also available.
Tropea is the creation of Ben Robinson Young and Kasia Piatkowska, who met whilst studying Culinary Arts at the University College Birmingham in 2010. Inspired by a picturesque town on the Calabrian coast, Tropea (pronounced Tro-Pey-Ah) sits in the leafy Birmingham suburb of Harborne.
Tropea’s menu is heavily influenced by food sold on the streets of Italy. Made up of small plates, designed to share, it includes snacks, fresh pastas, seafood and regional specialities reflecting fresh produce, from day-boat fish to venison.
Ben Robinson-Young, co-owner of Tropea, said,
We are really excited to be open for lunch bookings on Saturdays at Tropea after so many guests enquired about it. We will be serving our usual seasonal menu on Saturdays from the 3rd of December. Booking is advised but walk-ins are also welcome. We’re looking forward to welcoming lunchtime guests very soon.
Tropea is open Tuesday – Friday from 5pm – 11.30pm and on Saturdays from 12pm – 3pm and 5pm – 11.30pm.
