Overhear is delighted to announce a partnership with Highbury Community Orchard to present two free family friendly workshops of growing, grafting and foraging poems, guided over Zoom by Adrian B Earle and Kibriya Mehrban.
These workshops will encourage participants to explore green spaces in a new and social-distancing-compliant way, with the end result of recording and digitally pinning their work to locations in and around the Orchard for family and friends to collect using the Overhear Mobile App.
Participants and parents/guardians will be emailed a Zoom link in advance. Exercises will not be dependent on having visited the orchard in the past but will encourage future exploration. Participants will have a week post-workshop to edit and record their poems before emailing them to us to be pinned using the Overhear app, available on the App Store and Google Play Store.

Workshop Facilitators
Adrian B. Earle is a Poet, Media Maker, Facilitator and storyteller; Producer & Managing Director at VerseFirst Productions and Co-founder and Publishing manager of the Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal.
His first chapbook 5 0 0 0 H U R T S was published by Burning Eye Books in 2019. He has an MA in Creative writing From Birmingham City University and performs and creates experimental A/V work under the name Think/Write/Fly. Kibriya Mehrban is a poet and writer living and working in Birmingham. They graduated with a degree in English Literature & Creative Writing from the University of Birmingham in 2018 and have spent most of their time since working around – and occasionally performing at – literature events. Their work can be found in Emma Press anthologies This is Not Your Final Form (2017), Second Place Rosege: Poems About Britain (2018) and in the Hippodrome Young Poets anthology 30 Synonyms for Emerging (Verve Poetry Press, 2019). Highbury Orchard Community are a Community Interest Company running woodland projects on the Highbury estate, Birmingham that help people connect with nature. Projects include Community Orchard Workdays, Stick Around for adults managing their own well-being through conservation and crafts, and Woodland Play for families with 0-8s, learning together.
